As he is under contract, I think the first approach, by the rules, has to be to the club. ‘Tapping up’ and all that.
As somebody new to the role, I think adhering strictly to the rules was a good choice by Myler. Maybe he’ll learn how to make informal, indirect soundings in the future. The issue really is that somebody blabbed when it was only just put in the oven.
