Culture was a Smith buzzword, yes it matters but getting a bunch of players with the right ingredients who will work for each other is more important. I'd take Hardaker for a year just like we have Briscoe - both are short term fixes that would take us to mid table, something we can only dream of right now

Myler has used the word 'identity' which is basically the same. Agree both Hardaker and Briscoe are short term fixes but I'd rather go and get another centre other than Zak.

Hardaker causes problems at every club he's at, worst being him costing Cas the grand final, and is not a good role model for younger players / fans...sort of signing we should be avoiding if we want to build a good culture at the club

He's had a 14 month ban for coke and currently serving a drink driving ban after rolling a car, you don't need to have played with him to know they're not good things

If we were talking about prime Hardaker, from say 6 or 7 years ago, then I would maybe, possibly consider overlooking his baggage to bring in what was undoubtedly a quality player. But he's not even close to that standard now. He's solid at best. I don't really want someone with his history when there will be plenty of others available at his sort of standard.

How can you overlook drink driving and drug use?

I don't care about the drug use. He wasn't taking performance enhancers. He has had his demons and I can forgive that. The drink driving is harder to overlook admittedly.
